Data collected by opening an account, including email address, is considered Personal Data and will only be used for verifying your identity, sending you alerts relevant to the Services you signed up for, or important security information. You may opt out of any or all alert emails at any time.
To increase security and mitigate spam accounts Projectlink requires users to have access to an email address, and be able to verify this access at any time. Failure to do so could result in the loss of your account.
Details about Organizations, like public company names and headquarter location, are considered Public Data and can be read by anyone. Organizations on Projectlink can be searched and viewed by anyone. Do not publish personal information under the Organization domain. Do not publish details about any company unless they are public details or you own the intellectual property.
We understand there are project details that must be kept private, or that are kept private strategically. Projectlink allows the option of publishing Projects privately. Private Projects still show the name and Organization of a Project but hide all other details like location and description from the public. You cannot completely hide the existence of a Project, even if it’s private. We think this allows a balance between exposure and privacy, as Projects on Projectlink are meant to be discovered. Data collected (aside from name) from a Private Project can be seen by the Content Creator, anyone who is a member of the content creator’s Organization, and any User who receives an explicit invite.
Data collected from posting a reference is considered Public Data. References are public comments and descriptions of an Organization’s work, and are therefore meant to be seen by everyone. False, slanderous, or misleading references will be handled on a case-by-case basis. We ensure the quality of References by allowing them by request only. Please contact us to report any misleading References.
We collect anonymous usage data to help us guide the product development. This data is used to monitor usage patterns in order to identify design flaws and bugs, and to improve the system and features. We install Simple Analytics, a non-cookie event tracking script.
We use Google Cloud infrastructure, which employs hundreds of the world’s most talented security experts to keep data safe. We use JWT web tokens to verify users identities, and verify access rights before every data request. This said, no data on the internet is guaranteed to be absolutely secure. We recommend using secure practices, like logging out of shared computers, and learning the security features of your phone and browser.
